The television show “River Monsters” features Jeremy Wade who travels all around the world checking out stories about river monsters that have mysteriously taken lives or injured people that live along the river banks. Many places that he travels are remote and much of the show is his investigation with a local guide into the river and the possible answers for the attacks. The shows can be so crazy that sometimes you need to relax! One of the best ways I’ve ever found to unwind is buying some herbal incense from flowland.net.

Mr. Wade travels to parts of the world that are difficult to get to, so he ends up taking everything he needs for his investigation with him. He never knows whether it’s going to be a snake, alligator, massive fish, or something he’s never encountered before. He uses his water faring skills and his knowledge of the local flora and fauna to try and deduct what the river monster may be.

There are a number of interviews that are conducted with the locals that are a combination of real stories about a death or injury of a family member to more of a story-like tale of what they think the animal looks like. Since the mysterious river monsters are endangering the local community, many people are scared to go into the water when Mr. Wade is doing his investigations.

River monsters is a fun show that demonstrates just how big some animals can get under perfect living conditions. With an unlimited supply of food and no natural predators, some of the monsters they have shown on the show are record sizes. The show “River Monsters” does a great job of not only interviewing the locals to find out what the animal could be, but Jeremy Wade does an excellent job of using his skills to try and extract the animal from the river to not only identify what it is, but make the river community safe again. “River Monsters” can be found in many different remote locations and the show does a great job of explaining what the monster is and how it got that big as well as explaining how the local stories have come to make the monster larger than life. Not only does the show tickle the senses about what lives in the waters that surround us, but it also helps small villages rid themselves of a pest that could potentially destroy the community.

Who says that only dogs get to have all of the fun. Seriously, cats are major party lovers, and they are not missing out on any of the fun and attention. This is especially true for the first ever “cat premier” of the movie Puss In Boots. That’s right, well known celeb cats and more walked the red carpet to go to the movie cat premiering of the Dreamworks movie. Famous felines like Kitty Purry (Katy Perry’s cat) and more set out to see what all the fuss was about. Leonardo Dicatrio and Robert Meowny Jr. also made appearances, and who was there to round them all up? None other than the voice of Puss in Boots himself, Antonio Banderas.

No one could look as cool as Banderas posing with a group of fab kitties. He is just like his character in the film, lovable and suave. The cats seemed to catch on to that and posed right along side of him. Some even donned their very own 3D glasses while in the theater to watch the film.

Thanks to Puss In Boots and the premier, cats are now a whole new level of cool. So for today, Cats Rule and Dogs Drool…actually that is accurate for most days…

Watch the cat walk below. We love cats at Flowland!

Taking on a pet is a huge responsibility. It is not free, cheap, or always easy to have a pet as a member of your household. This, of course, is not being said to deter you from introducing a furry friend to your family, but just to make you aware of the fact that as a pet owner you have to take care of certain things that people often do not consider. A lot of people get wrapped up in the cuteness or the fact that they just want companionship, and so they end up with a pet who is not properly cared for. So what do you need to be ready for if you plan on getting a pet?

Medical care. I like to think of my pets like children. One reason I think this way is because I don’t have any human children, so my pets fill that spot. The other reason pets are like children is because just like little ones they require medical care like vaccinations and check ups. On top of those two things, your pet cannot tell you how they are feeling, so it is your responsibility to make sure that they are healthy. Spaying or neutering your pet is also incredibly important. There are so many animals out there without loving homes, so having unplanned puppies or kittens might add more critters to the animal shelter.

Shelter. Whether you are choosing to have an indoor or outdoor dog, you have to make certain that there is proper shelter. Outdoor dogs need a shelter that will keep them from wandering into the road, something that will be cool on hot days, and warm on cold days. Suitable shelter is a must have for your pets.

Food. Sure, this one seems like an obvious need for a pet, but many pet owners are not aware of the financial requirements to feed their pets healthy pet food. Even the cheapest of pet foods cost money, and it might cause stomach or intestinal issues. Make sure that your pet is getting the dietary needs that he or she requires.

Ah, television…I believe that it is pretty safe to say that most people enjoy having a seat on their comfy couches and watching a little bit of television. Some people even have shows that they never miss, and sometimes there is not anything better than just channel surfing for hours on end. The television is an incredible thing. Who’s to say that it is only appealing to us humans though? That’s right. Have you ever thought about what your pooch wanted to watch? If you haven’t taken your dog’s television show choices into consideration you might want to start doing so. Some dogs love the TV just as much as their owners.

If you have never seen your dog tuning into the television, then watch these videos. These dogs are really into their programming, and some even get a little upset looking if you cause a disturbance during their show. I can’t wait to head home and figure out what my dogs favorite shows on television are. Surely as much as the TV is on around my house they have caught glimpses of some pretty great programming.

Enjoy the videos below and let me know, do your pets like to watch television? If so, what are their favorite shows?

If you’re ever wondered why luxury watches are so expensive, this amazing video will answer all of your questions. Not only does this video unlock the mystery of why jewelry is expensive, it also shows the incredible craftsmanship that goes into a luxury watch. If you have ever purchased a luxury watch, you know that the options are endless. You can buy a gold watch, a silver watch, or a watch encrusted with jewels. Every watch is unique and offers amazing features.

The internet is a great place to shop for watches. Many websites, like overstock.com and amazon.com, offer awesome name brand watches at a discount. If you are more interested in an extremely expensive luxury watch, you should look at websites like cartier.com. Another option is a luxury watch, with a unique design, that is within a reasonable price range, than websites like blum lux watches will be your best bet.

Watches are a great accessory because they are both functional and flashy. You can buy many different types to fit your mood, or just have one really expensive watch that goes with everything. I hope you enjoyed the video above! It is such a cool presentation on how watches are made!

Owning a dog can be a big responsibility. It’s not just about feeding Spike, cleaning up after Spike or playing with Spike. It’s also about making sure Spike knows how to behave, especially if Spike is a large breed dog. Large breed dogs need to know how to behave around your friends and family to make life easier. Even at the veterinarian’s office, the dog can go through an easier and safer exam if the dog knows how to behave.

So, the million dollar question is: “How do you get Spike to behave?” Spike can learn to behave through animal training. Animals can be trained to do a lot of different behaviors on cue. Cues for dogs are normally verbal commands, such as sit, stay, leave it and lay down. However, when training an animal you need to keep in mind that animals can’t be trained to do something that is not physically possible for them. For example:

“You can train a dog to fetch. You can train a bird to fly. But, you can’t train a dog to fly.” This would be just about impossible.

When training an animal for something that the animal has never done before, it’s best to start with a behavior the animal already knows. For instance, if your dog knows how to sit, then you’ll be one step closer to training Spike to lay down or leaving it. If Spike understands “leave it”, this cue will come in handy quite often. For example, if you are eating a slice of pizza and the phone rings, you should be able to tell Spike to leave the pizza alone while you answer the phone. Coming back to the mouth watering piece of pizza will do make your stomach happy, I’m sure.

The Training Process for Spike:

We’ll assume that Spike knows how to sit on command and does a really good job at it. Now, place a dog treat a foot or so away from him. Tell him to “leave it” in a stern voice. (The type of voice you use is really important. Spike needs to understand who’s boss). After Spike leaves it alone for 30-45 seconds, you can reward him with the treat. Continue placing treats in front of him, tell him to “leave it”, and increase the amount of time that he has to look at the treat. At the end of each timed segment, always reward him with the treat. The next timed session could be 1-2 minutes, then 5 minutes and maybe even 10 minutes. The more you do this type of training with Spike, the faster he’ll learn. And the bonus of this type of training is that the next time the phone rings while you’re eating a slice of pizza, you’ll be able to get the phone and come back to a delicious piece of pizza!

Raccoons are among the strangest and most beloved of America’s wild animals. To some people they are a nuisance and a pest that needs to be discouraged or eliminated because they are scavengers, thieves and as wily as any animal on Earth. Some others choose to hunt them and in certain parts of the country, they are highly prized for their pelts and meat. However, the appeal of their masked faces and their cute antics have endeared them to many others who try and preserve their way of life in the wild.

Raccoons are nocturnal which is why most of their food raids upon camping grounds or suburban homes is at night. They prefer to sleep during the day and hunt at night. They usually run in packs of four or more which can include related females and their kits or unrelated males. They will eat almost anything they can if their normal food source of crayfish or other small fish is not plentiful. They are often labeled tricksters or bandits because they have natural markings resembling masks on their faces but also because they are extremely intelligent and have good memories of a food source and how to get at it. They move stealthily and silently on long back paws and front paws that resemble hands more than feet. Raccoons are famous for watching everything except for what they are doing as they are dependent on the dexterity of their front “hands” to find what they are seeking and grasp it. Their forgaing is not confined just to food but also bright or shiny objects which the animal takes for a collection just as some birds like magpies and crows will do. They are a proverbial “packrat” species.

Raccoons have no saliva glands so they eat everything dry and immediately drink afterwards so it makes perfect sense that they prefer to catch small fish or insects in shallow water where they eat and drink at the same time. They are very adept tree-climbers and fierce fighters when cornered. They prefer flight to fight but if they are forced to defend themselves with no other avenue of escape, they truly can kill a dog or other predator by themselves.

Coons, as they are called, are very social creatures with a deep loyalty to their young and each other. The mother raccoon will defend her young litter to the death if possible. They are smart enough to choose high and not easily accessible dens in order to rear their kits such as knotholes or hollows high in a strong tree. They go up quickly but come down slowly since they prefer to back down instead of going down head first.

Raccoons can make interesting pets but as with any wild animal, the authorities will discourage such practice. Coons can be entertaining and affectionate when raised from a kit but their wild instincts will eventually kick in and they can become dangerous if their desire to mate or leave is denied. As with all wild species, raccoons are far more enjoyable observed from a distance and not up close and personal.

No one— not even scientists— really knows how many kinds of animals there are on earth. Every year, millions of new kinds are discovered. In this article I will describe some of the most exotic creatures rarely seen by human beings.

In the darkest depths of the ocean live many weird- looking kinds of fish. No sunlight penetrates here, and the pressure is immense. The creatures that live here are well- adapted to their environment, but human beings can come into their domain only in vessels like bathyscaphes designed to withstand these pressures. Most of these creatures are, in fact, known only to scientists and do not even have common names.

One of these, the umbrella- mouthed gulper eel, has a mouth that is much bigger than the rest of its body, with the lower part barely attached to the upper. Its tail resembles a whip, which it can use for swimming.

The goblin shark is also a deep- sea creature— and a very ugly one at that. Its beak- like snout is longer than that of any other shark, and has electro- receptors at the end that enable the creature to locate its prey. Very little is known about the life cycle of this shark, which was not discovered until 1897.

The final deep- sea fish that I will describe is the black swallower— a creature that has evolved the fascinating capability of devouring creatures larger than itself! It does this by pushing certain internal organs to one side, and its stomach is elastic.

All three animals described above, though in different ways, are adapted to life in an environment where food is so scarce as to require efficient ways of capturing it. Moving into shallower water, the ghost “shark” is not a shark at all, though it is a close relative (its more formal name is the chimera). Science Daily has called it the “oldest and most enigmatic group of fishes alive today.” The chimaera has a long, soft body, and one kind— the elephant fish— has a short thin snout resembling a trunk. Plenty of fossil forms are known.

The elephant- nosed mormyrid, a freshwater tropical fish, has a bizarre snout with sensitive taste sensors. It can generate an electric field— a useful adaptation in water where visibility is poor.

The ocean is indeed full of strange creatures. But there are plenty of others that live on land. One is the uakari, a monkey that lives in the rain forests of South America. Most of its body is covered in thick, medium brown fur, but the deep pink head is bald. The uakari has the shortest tail of any monkey. They have been known to hang upside down from branches— though no one knows why— and even to walk upright.

The kultarr is a tiny marsupial native to Western Australia. It looks somewhat like a mouse, but it hops. It likes to eat small invertebrates.
